Miner49er is heading east with the opening of its 2nd concept shop on November 18, 2009 in Hong Kong


East meets West when miner49er, the retail concept worth its weight in gold for discerning vintage denim fanatics, sets up shop in Hong Kong’s Tsim Sha Tsui district.


Eschewing the clean, modern look of most specialty retail in HK, miner49er will bring a rough and ready slice of California circa 1849 with its gold mining themed merchandising, authentic antiques and vintage photographs as the back drop to present some of the world’s best vintage inspired denim.


Miner49er will showcase premium selvage denim from California based “Denim Design Lab” and Montreal based “Bzen,” as well as vintage inspired T’s, books and other unique and hard-to-find items.  Miner49er offers styles designed with the quality and simplicity of the original jeans worn by the 49ers, in updated, modern fits.  Denim built so tough, you can trust your gold nuggets will be safe...

Katharina Shultz, a young friend of miner49er, built this for a class project on the California gold rush.

Of course.... she got an "A." We thought it was so cool we agreed to display it in the shop.

Miner49er celebrated the opening of its first US concept store on November 15th, 2008. On hand to take in the festivities were local denim fanatics and friends from the denim industry.

If you are in Southern California, you simply must stop by and experience this truly unique retail / showroom concept shop for those who live and breath denim.
